Tour the Cenotes, Beaches, and Mayan Ruins of Yucatan

Upon arriving at Cancun International Airport, a driver will pick you up and take you to Laguna Suites Golf + Spa hotel to relax before the next days of touring begin. In this vacation package, you’ll tour the Mayan ruins of Tulum, Coba, Uxmal, Kabah, and Chichen Itza, staying overnight in Merida; then the wetlands and beaches of Celestun, and the cenotes of Yucatan. At the end of the tour, a guide will bring you to the Ocean Spa Hotel in Cancun for two days to enjoy on your own. On the last day, a driver will take you from the hotel to the airport.

  • Day 1. Arrival at Cancun International Airport

    Upon arrival to Cancun's International Airport, you will be picked up by an official multilingual guide who will escort you to your hotel. Once here you may relax and enjoy the evening and refresh yourself after your long flight. Stay overnight at the Laguna Suites Golf & Spa.

  • Day 2. Tulum - Coba

    An official multilingual guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and escort you on the tour. You will drive directly to Tulum, the only Mayan city located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. Afterwards, explore the archaeological site of Coba, admiring structures such as The Castle, with its mural paintings of mythological scenes.

    Retire for the night at Hotel Los Aluxes in Merida.

  • Day 3. Celestun

    After breakfast, depart for the beautiful beaches and magical wetlands of Celestun with many available activities. Explore the internationally protected wetlands of Celestun, observing the unique wildlife that inhabits the region, such as bright pink flamingos. Or relax for the day on a peaceful, white sand beach under the tropical sun.

    In the evening, return to the hotel in Merida.

  • Day 4. Uxmal - Kabah

    After breakfast, visit the Mayan ruins of Uxmal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a perfect example of the Late Classic period’s Puuc Mayan architecture. See its famous decorated Mayan-style facades, including the Governor’s Palace, the Pyramid of the Magician, and the Nunnery Quadrangle. After Lunch, visit the newly uncovered Mayan archaeological site of Kabah to see the famous Palace of the Masks, and other Mayan pyramids and temples.

    Then stay overnight at the hotel in Merida.

  • Day 5. Kankirixche

    After breakfast, enjoy a wonderful journey into the past and present of Yucatan on a historical trip. Explore unknown regions of the Yucatan Peninsula, and discover clear blue water of fascinating cenotes (cave-like sinkholes with natural wells). Cenotes offer some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving.

    Visit the impressive cenotes of Kankirixche and Yaal-Utzil. Kankirixche (which means “yellow fruit tree”) is located 30.5 miles (49 kilometers) south of Merida. To find this cenote, you climb down 49 feet (15 meters) of metal stairs. These fascinating cenotes reveals the roots of trees growing from the bottom of the well to the top of the water, and also have many interesting stalactites. Witness the beautiful effects the sunlight creates as it shines into the clear water.

    In the afternoon, the journey continues to Hacienda Ochil with a tour of the Museum of the Henequen (agave plant fiber). Enjoy lunch and a relaxing visit at the Hacienda, which includes a pool and handicraft shop

    Return to the hotel in Merida at 4:00 p.m.

  • Day 6. Chichen-Itza,Yucatan – Cancun

    After breakfast, visit the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza (which means “at the mouth of the well of Itza") was at its height between 800 AD and 1200 AD as the center of political, religious, and military power for the Mayan civilization and southeast Mesoamerica. Observe the gradual merging of structural styles from Puuc to Toltec, as the change of power occurred between opposing factions of the Mayan empire.

    Chichen Itza was recently designated one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. This archaeological site is recognized for its spectacular architecture, such as the Kukulkan Pyramid (also called El Castillo). Discover and learn about the many remarkable structures of this mystical ancient city: The Observatory, Temple of the Warriors, Hall of a Thousand Columns, and the Great Ball Court, to name a few.

    After lunch, return to the all inclusive Ocean Spa Hotel and resort in Cancun, Mexico.

  • Day 8. Departure

    You’ll be picked up at Ocean Spa Hotel and driven to Cancun International Airport for your return flight home.
