3rd Cancun Riviera Maya International Film Festival 2009

Under the statement “ecology of the souls” as a metaphor for the sustainable collaboration of towns, cultures and ethnic groups, the festival is a celebration of diversity: a cultural idea born in Mexico, with international projection.

For the third time, our destination will receive next month (Nov. 9-15) the most talented filmmakers from different countries to show their first original work to an international panel of judges & experts; nine official prizes and several complimentary ones will be given away.

The main objectives of the festival, according to the organizing committee are to promote contemporary film-making, to foster cultural and artistic activities and to support ecology-oriented actions. The Mayan civilization and the extraordinary natural beauties of the region are two of the most important and attractive ingredients for this event.
